The Rose and Thistle, or the “RAT” as the villagers affectionately call it, is a 16th century pub in the heart of the beautiful Rockbourne village. Located in the stunning New Forest, we offer seasonal cooking showcasing the very best from local suppliers.

At The Rose and Thistle, we pride ourselves on finding the best meat and produce from the immediate area and take the utmost care in its preparation. We make everything from scratch, in house and that passion from our chefs is reflected on the plate.

This community pub has a rich history of being at the centre of this village and many of the villagers volunteer their time behind the bar, which offers a truly unique experience as they have stories to tell and recommendations for visiting the surrounding area.
